One Sea is a high-profile ecosystem with a primary aim to lead the way towards an operating autonomous maritime ecosystem by 2025<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The collaboration gathers together leading marine experts and is a strategic combination of top research, state-of-the-art information technology and business. The work began in 2016, and the aim is to create an environment suitable for autonomous ships by 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The purpose is to enable more widespread adaptation of autonomous technologies in order to increase safety, decrease the environmental footprint of marine traffic and advance possibilities for efficiency improvement and new commercial ventures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Key players ABB, Awake.ai, Cargotec, Ericsson, Finnpilot Pilotage, Inmarsat, Kongsberg Maritime, Monohakobi Technology Institute, Napa, Tieto and W\u00e4rtsil\u00e4 bring their knowledge and private investments to the ecosystem. Finnish Port Association, Finnish Shipowners\u2019 Association, Finnish Marine Industries, Shipbrokers Finland and The Royal Institution of Naval Architects support the effort. One Sea is led by DIMECC and the public funding for research and regulatory purposes is supplied by Business Finland. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
