That said, the value of new orders fell 23 per cent short of the fourth quarter of 2025, while the value of order books was two per cent lower than at the end of December 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cPerformance in the fourth quarter was exceptionally robust. This sparked delighted optimism, which has since given way to great uncertainty. In spite of the somewhat muted market, the situation remains tolerable on the whole, and expectations are cautiously optimistic.
