Member services and working groups
The association is a place for cooperation as well as a place for the development of activities both for its members and for other actors in the field of health technology.
The association informs its members about relevant political and legislative projects in the field and collects the members’ feedback for delivery to decision-makers in various forms, such as personal meetings, participation in key working groups, through written and oral presentations, or as statements on pending legislative projects. The association itself is also proactive in matters important to the industry and produces e.g. opinion and blog posts to stimulate social debate.

Working groups
The main activities of the association are meetings of legislative working groups, which are managed by the association together with the separately appointed chairpersons. The aim of the working groups is to share information on the regulation of the industry and to provide a network for companies to have low-threshold discussions on topics common to the industry.
The working groups are open and free of charge to all employees of the member companies. Participation in the groups does not require any prior preparation or homework. The discussion is free-form and ideas can be exchanged at a very low threshold.
Public and private parties in Finland and Denmark have come together in a joint action to produce a catalogue of e-tools to explain and educate the industry on the Artificial Intelligence (AI) Act, Data Act and the European Health Data Space (EHDS) regulation.
The working groups are open and free of charge to all employees of the member companies and meet mainly on a monthly basis (excluding the summer months).
Participation in the groups does not require prior preparation or homework. The discussion is free-form and ideas can be exchanged at a very low threshold.
The focus of the regulatory working groups is on EU regulations (MDR, IVDR and the recommendations, guidelines and standards that guide their implementation). The regulatory working groups also address the markets and requirements of major export countries, such as the USA and China. In addition, the working groups will delve into domestic health sector regulation and monitor the preparation and implementation of new national legislative projects in the field.
In addition to the participants and performers, the chairperson, secretary and a representative of the Healthtech Finland are always present at the meetings. A meeting memorandum is prepared for each meeting. The secretary of the meetings is Päivi Ahlgren. The working groups are coordinated by Sandra Liede.
Separate calendar invitations and participation links will be sent to each person who has registered on the working group mailing lists. The participation links are also stored on our member site.
The Regional Working Group brings together a network of regional actors in Finland. The working group includes Helsinki, Kuopio, Tampere, Turku, Oulu and Pori.
The working group will share information of the on going projects, working group also discuss influencing of the operational environment, familiarity with regulations and investor cooperation.
The association has a Sustainability working group that is working on a sustainability roadmap for use by member companies. The sustainability of the industry includes responsible procurement from the point of view of both the seller and the buyer, financing opportunities, availability of labour and regulations concerning the sector.
