New Collective Agreement for Salaried Employees – Pro’s Strikes Canceled, Overtime Ban Ends

Salaried employees in the technology industry now have a new three-year collective agreement, as Technology Industry Employers of Finland and Trade Union Pro approved the negotiation outcome on Sunday evening. As a result, the planned strikes for salaried employees have been called off, and the overtime ban has ended.

The approved wage settlement will bring a total of 7.8 percent pay increases over three years for salaried employees in the technology industry. The negotiation outcome was reached on Sunday under the leadership of Conciliator Jukka Ahtela and was approved the same evening.

The agreement will remain in force until the end of November 2027, with a review scheduled for August 2026, at which point the agreement may be terminated.

The agreement covers approximately 20,000 employees, taking into account its generally binding nature.

Pay Increases to Be Primarily Negotiated Locally

The wage settlement is primarily intended to be negotiated at the local level, and Technology Industry Employers of Finland strongly encourages its member companies to engage in local negotiations. These negotiations will consider the company’s or workplace’s financial situation, order book, employment outlook, and cost competitiveness in the market.

If a local wage agreement is not reached, salaries will be adjusted based on the fallback clause outlined in the collective agreement. The fallback clause consists of a general pay increase and a company- or workplace-specific component distributed by the employer.

When distributing individual pay increases, the key guiding factor should be the professional skills and work performance of salaried employees. Larger increases should be directed to employees whose company-specific salary component is relatively lower compared to their personal salary component.

New Collective Agreement Also Reached for Technology Industry Workers

A new collective agreement for technology industry workers was approved on Saturday with the Industrial Union. The fallback clause in this agreement is at the same level as that of salaried employees, but the structure of the wage settlement differs slightly.
