New Strike Threats for Senior and Salaried Employees

The Federation of Professional and Managerial Staff (YTN), representing senior salaried employees in the technology industry, and Trade Union Pro, representing salaried employees in the consulting and design sector, have issued new strike warnings.
On Thursday, March 13, YTN issued new strike warnings. Previously, YTN had announced strikes for four consecutive Fridays between February 28 and March 21. The latest strike warning targets selected technology industry companies for two additional Fridays, March 28 and April 4. The labor dispute negotiations are set to continue on Tuesday, March 18.
Trade Union Pro issued a strike warning on Sunday, March 16, concerning the consulting and design sector. The strike will impact salaried employees’ work shifts starting between Monday, March 31, at 00:00 and Friday, April 4, at 23:59.
YTN Plans Three More Strike Days
The YTN strikes affect several technology industry companies, as well as senior salaried employees working under the applicable collective agreement in subcontracting or temporary employment arrangements. Additionally, a so-called “resilience ban” remains in effect, meaning that senior salaried employees will not work flex hours or travel for business outside regular working hours.
Industrial Action in the Consulting and Design Sector
Trade Union Pro has also announced an overtime and additional work ban for salaried employees in the consulting and design sector. The overtime ban will remain in effect until March 31, 2025, unless a settlement is reached before then. According to Pro’s announcement, work-related travel and training participation must take place within regular working hours. The industrial action also includes a restriction on accumulating flex-time balances and a ban on shift changes.
Additionally, Pro has issued a strike warning for the consulting and design sector from March 31 to April 4. Negotiations with Pro will continue on Tuesday, March 18.
YTN has announced a ban on work-related travel during free time and on accumulating flex-time balances in the consulting and design sector. This restriction came into effect on Monday, March 3, and will remain in place until March 31, unless an agreement is reached beforehand. No further negotiation dates have been scheduled.
Negotiations on the collective agreement for the IT service sector will continue on Monday, March 17. No industrial action has been announced in this sector.
New Collective Agreements for Industrial Workers and Salaried Employee
The Technology Industry Employers of Finland and the Industrial Union reached an agreement on a new wage settlement on Saturday, February 22.
Also Technology Industry Employers of Finland and the Trade Union Pro reached an agreement on a new wage settlement on Sunday, February 23.
