Funding for collaborative projects in applied AI Research

In November 2023, the Technology Industries of Finland decided to grant a total of 3.8 million euros in co-financing for the recruitment of international postdoctoral researchers for collaborative AI research projects between member companies and universities/research institutions in Finland.

The funding for an individual research project will cover up to 50% of the recruited researcher's salary costs, including direct ancillary costs, for a maximum period of four years.

The goal is to increase AI expertise in Finland and improve the country's competitiveness by recruiting new international postdoctoral-level AI researchers. These researchers will accelerate applied AI research within companies, strengthen collaboration between companies and public research, and share their expertise more broadly through universities.
