Slight pickup in demand in the technology industry

There are signs of a gradual pickup in demand among Finnish technology companies, but hopes for a swift economic recovery have faded. The value of new orders has declined slightly, and trade and geopolitical uncertainty continues to cast a shadow over investment decisions.

The long-awaited rapid growth in Finland’s largest export sector has yet to materialise, and no swift recovery is expected in the near term. However, demand does appear to be gradually recovering. According to the latest order book and personnel survey conducted by Technology Industries of Finland, the value of new orders in July–September was seven per cent lower than in the previous quarter but ten per cent higher than during the same period in 2024. In euro terms, the volume of new orders was reasonable given the circumstances.
