Technology Industries of Finland: AI principles
Last modified 05.01.2026 at 13:11
We use artificial intelligence in line with our values and sustainability policies. The principles below apply to both the use and procurement of AI.
Translations: We use AI to support some of our translations from Finnish to English. All AI-assisted translations are always reviewed and amended by a human.
Value-based practical principles
We move forward boldly
- AI should complement and support human capabilities, not replace or limit them. Humans are always responsible for decisions and outcomes.
- We experiment with different ways of using AI in an ambitious but controlled manner—starting with pilots and scaling up based on what we learn.
- We actively monitor developments in technology, regulation, and guidance from other organisations, and update our AI practices accordingly.
We collaborate with respect
- We openly share best practices and models with colleagues and members.
- We ensure the origin and appropriate licensing of data, respecting the rights of our partners.
We are inquisitive experts
- Fact-checking and source verification are always the responsibility of humans.
- We support our staff in developing and strengthening their skills in using AI.
We act transparently and sustainably
- We communicate as clearly as possible about how and where we use AI.
- We follow principles of human-centricity, non-discrimination, and environmental responsibility in all AI-enabled solutions.
- We consider the societal impacts of AI and promote ethical, democracy-supporting AI development.
