Minna Helle appointed CEO of Technology Industries of Finland

Minna Helle, currently Deputy CEO, will begin in the role of CEO of Technology Industries of Finland in mid-November. The current CEO, Jaakko Hirvola, is retiring.

The CEO of Technology Industries of Finland is changing. Jaakko Hirvola is retiring, and Minna Helle, currently Deputy CEO, will be the new CEO as of 11 November 2024. At a meeting held yesterday, 9 October, the board of Technology Industries of Finland selected Helle as the new CEO.

“Minna Helle has a deep understanding of the values and strategy of Technology Industries of Finland. Under Minna’s leadership, our work to secure the operating requirements and competitiveness of Finland’s most important export industry will continue successfully,” says Jaakko Eskola, chair of the board of Technology Industries of Finland.

Minna Helle, who holds a Master of Laws, began at Technology Industries of Finland as Labour Market Director in the summer of 2018. She came to Technology Industries of Finland from the role of national conciliator. She was appointed Deputy CEO of Technology Industries of Finland in 2021.

“I’m grateful for the trust placed in me. Our member companies are the backbone of the Finnish economy, employment and consequently the country’s welfare as a whole. It’s an honour to be able to steer the work of advocating and making an impact for Finland’s largest export industry alongside my expert colleagues at Technology Industries of Finland,” Minna Helle says.

Helle points out that the success of technology industry companies is critically important for Finland as a whole.

“The opportunities are immense, because there is a growing demand on global markets for sustainable technological solutions. They can be used to help solve big global problems, from an ageing population to tackling climate change.

Jaakko Hirvola will continue to be employed by Technology Industries of Finland until the end of February 2025. He will then retire.
“However, I plan to continue as a part-time freelance consultant and thus advance the growth and modernization of Finnish companies,” he says.
