Abigail Rowan appointed Head of EU Affairs at Technology Industries of Finland

Abigail Rowan has been appointed Head of EU Affairs at Technology Industries of Finland. She will take up her position at the organisation’s Brussels office on 1 October 2026.

Abigail Rowan joins Technology Industries of Finland from Ingka Group (IKEA), where she has headed the Public Affairs Team in Brussels. Her work has focused particularly on EU legislation concerning sustainability and corporate responsibility. In this role, she was part of the Global PA&A Leadership Team and the Extended Communications Management Team.

Rowan holds a degree in Law and French Law from the University of Surrey and has completed further training in leadership, project management and corporate social responsibility.

“After 17 years in Brussels, I’m pleased to join TIF at a time when the business voice on implementation has never been more important. Finland has European tech champions that show that ambition on sustainability and competitiveness can go hand in hand—and I look forward to helping bring their experience to Brussels,” Rowan says.

Previously, Rowan held director-level positions at the Brussels-based public affairs consultancies Rud Pedersen and FIPRA International. She has also worked as Sustainability and Corporate Communications Manager at Knauf Insulation GmbH, a provider of energy-efficiency solutions.

“I am delighted to welcome Abby Rowan to our team. She is a highly experienced EU public affairs professional with an extensive network in Brussels and strong expertise across many of the policy areas that are important to the technology industry,” says Anna Ranki, Director – Public Affairs at Technology Industries of Finland.
