A new market-driven Innovation Action

EU needs to build its innovation capacity to be able to build continent’s competitiveness. Innovations lie equally at the heart of not only competitiveness of European Industries, but also at the heart of Europe’s capability to build its technological sovereignty and defence capabilities. 

Where EU lags behind is commercialisation of innovations and EU’s innovation system fails to address this flaw. Therefore, Technology Industries of Finland and Confederation of Finnish Industries propose to introduce a market-driven model to the European innovation system. This would help EU to get results faster from its innovation policies and leverage private RDI investments. This model has been in use in Finland for several years and has proven to be very effective in terms of results and ability to leverage private investment.
