Employees’ confederations have announced a mass demonstration to be held on 18 September

The Central Organisation of Finnish Trade Unions (SAK), the Confederation of Unions for Professional and Managerial Staff in Finland (Akava) and the Finnish Confederation of Professionals (STTK) have announced that they will organise a mass demonstration in Helsinki Railway Station Square starting at 11am on 18 September. In their announcement the employees’ confederations encourage trade union members and other citizens to take part in the demonstration. The Transport Workers’ Union (AKT) has announced that it will halt the operation of the docks and road transport for the duration of the mass demonstration.

The Finnish Metalworkers’ Union has today announced that it will hold a political demonstration in the technology industries’ workplaces between 06.00 on 18 September 2015 and 06.00 on 19 September 2015. The announcement states that the scope of the demonstrations shall be determined independently at each workplace and the employer shall be informed of the decision.
