Collective agreement for salaried employees in the design and consultancy industries

A new collective agreement was concluded for salaried employees in the design and consultancy industries. The settlement was negotiated between Technology Industries of Finland and Trade Union Pro, and it covers approximately 10,000 salaried employees. The agreement was approved by the management of both unions.

The primary aim is that salary adjustments are agreed locally in companies. If agreeing on a local salary settlement fails, salaries will be adjusted in accordance with the fallback clause of the collective agreement and the general policies.

The issue of hours included in the Competitiveness Pact was resolved so that working time may be extended through local bargaining by 32 hours on an annual basis. If agreeing on an extension fails despite justified production-related needs, the employer may assign to salaried employees 8 hours of additional work in a calendar year. However, this work shift may not be scheduled for weekday holidays or a Saturday of a week including a weekday holiday. In addition, the employer may schedule 8 hours of training for time off. A compensation in line with the basic pay is paid for such hours assigned by the employer.
